Boundaries & Compassion

A Recovering Wholeness continuum for seeing protective movement without shame—and recognising the Living Way opening from wherever you are.

LOCATE WITHOUT JUDGMENT

A map is not a label.
It is an invitation to see.

Our position can change between relationships, environments and seasons. Notice the movement before deciding what it means about you.

MOVING AWAY FROM LIFE

No Boundaries

ONE PROTECTIVE DIRECTION

Walls

Walls offer protection by refusing access. They may keep danger out, but can eventually keep all connection, repair and receiving out as well.

ANOTHER PROTECTIVE DIRECTION

No Boundaries

Open access to everyone may appear loving while repeatedly overriding limits, safety, truth and the stewardship of one’s own life.

JESUS AT THE CENTRE

The Living Way

Jesus was compassionate and interruptible, yet He withdrew, said no, confronted harm and did not entrust Himself to everyone. Love and limits belong together.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.Proverbs 4:23 · NLT

THE BRAIN IS NOT THE ENEMY

Understanding can
make room for compassion.

A nervous system shaped by relational threat may alternate between rigid distance and appeasing access. Clear, predictable boundaries can support safety and connection.

PAUSE AND LOCATE YOURSELF

What do you notice?

01

Is this boundary protecting life or avoiding every discomfort?

02

Where am I granting access that trust has not supported?

03

What limit would protect both truth and compassion?

A PRAYER FOR THE TERRAIN

Holy Spirit, make me gentle as a dove and wise as a serpent. Teach me to protect life without hardening love.

You have begun to see this territory. If you would like deeper teaching, practice and companionship, the guided journey can continue when it opens.

You do not need the whole map
to make meaningful movement.
